- Participants are given Ibuprofen 400 mg to take for 7 days on the day they receive a dextrose prolotherapy (DPT) injection. These procedures are repeated every 3-5 weeks for a total of 3 times., Participants are given a placebo to take for 7 days on the day they receive a dextrose prolotherapy (DPT) injection. These procedures are repeated every 3-5 weeks for a total of 3 times.
